American Friends Rabin Medical
Center (AFRMC) held its sixth annual gala, celebrating unique
medical technologies at Rabin Medical Center. Ambassador Dennis
Ross, Presidential Envoy and Distinguished Middle East Diplomat,
delivered a keynote speech on Iraq, Iran and Israel after
Gaza and discuss Yitzhak Rabin’s legacy.
AFRMC honored Phillip Frost, Ph.D.,
Chairman and CEO, IVAX Corporation and Patricia Frost, Chair
of the Smithsonian Institution National Advisory Board. Dr.
Frost recently sold his company to Teva Pharmaceuticals for
$7.4 billion dollars—the largest business deal in the
history of Israel.
CNN’S Larry King served as
Master of Ceremonies. Entertainment was provided by The
Jazz Museum in Harlem All-Stars Band, The Honorable Arnold
Burns, Chairman of the QuanStar Group, was Dinner Chair; Mayor
Rudolph Giuliani, Senator Joseph Lieberman, Senator Hillary
Clinton, Senator Charles Schumer, Senator Frank Lautenberg
and Israel Ambassadors to the U.S., Daniel Ayalon, and UN,
Dan Gillerman, and Consul General of Israel in New York, Ambassador
Arye Mekel and Mortimer B. Zuckerman, Honorary Chairs; Yaron
